Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the SydnayLive website, located at sydnaylive.com. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our website. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the service.

How to read this

A plain-orientation to the terms below

SydnayLive is a directory and information hub for crypto, blockchain, and Web3 events in Sydney, Australia. We list conferences, meetups, and workshops organised by third parties. We do not host, ticket, or financially guarantee any event shown on this site.

The sections below set out the rules for using sydnaylive.com: who may use it, what happens when you submit an event, how we handle intellectual property, what conduct is prohibited, and how disputes are handled under New South Wales law. Read each section in order, or use the index links above to jump to a specific clause.

§ 01

Eligibility and Use of the Service

You must be at least 18 years old to use this website. By using SydnayLive, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are accessing the site on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account or through your use of the website, including any content you submit or any interactions you have with event organisers listed in our directory.

SydnayLive is read-only for most visitors. Browsing the event calendar, reading event details, and following links to organiser pages do not require an account. Where we introduce submission or saved-event features in the future, additional terms specific to those features will apply and will be presented at the point of use.

§ 02

User-Generated Content and Event Submissions

When you submit an event listing or any other content to SydnayLive, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content in connection with our service. This license allows us to show your event in the directory, format it for different screen sizes, and feature it in editorial sections of the site.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to the content you submit and that it does not violate the rights of any third party. This includes confirming that you have permission to use any logos, venue photographs, speaker headshots, or promotional copy included in your submission.

We reserve the right to remove any content that we deem inappropriate or in violation of these Terms. We may also decline to publish a submission if it is incomplete, inaccurate, or not clearly related to crypto, blockchain, or Web3 events in the Sydney region.

Event organisers remain responsible for the accuracy of their listings. SydnayLive does not independently verify dates, venue availability, ticket pricing, or speaker line-ups. If you spot an error in a listing, please contact us and we will pass the correction request to the listed organiser.

§ 03

Intellectual Property Rights

The website and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of SydnayLive and its licensors. Our intellectual property includes, but is not limited to, the website's design, text, graphics, logos, and software.

You may not use, copy, or distribute any part of the website without our express written permission, except as permitted by these Terms. Linking to individual event pages or sharing the URL of a listing is permitted. Scraping the directory, republishing listings in bulk, or reproducing the site's editorial copy elsewhere is not.

Event names, conference titles, venue names, and organiser branding shown in listings belong to their respective owners. Their appearance in our directory does not imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation with SydnayLive unless stated in writing.

§ 04

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities while using sydnaylive.com. These rules protect the directory, other users, and the event organisers who share their listings with us.

Violation of any item below may result in immediate suspension of access, removal of submitted content, and referral to law enforcement where applicable.

01

Commercial use without consent

Using the website for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent. This includes reselling event data, building derivative directories, or using listings to market a competing product.

02

Interference with site systems

Attempting to interfere with the proper functioning of the website or any related systems, including introducing malware, overload requests, or any action that disrupts availability for other visitors.

03

Automated access and data collection

Using any automated means to access the website or collect data from it, including bots, scrapers, crawlers, or scripts that extract event listings, venue details, or organiser information from our pages.

04

Fraudulent or misleading content

Posting or transmitting any fraudulent, misleading, or illegal content. This covers fake event listings, phishing links disguised as registration pages, and any content that could deceive visitors about an event's date, venue, or organiser.

05

Impersonation

Impersonating any person or entity or misrepresenting your affiliation with any person or entity. Submitting an event under a venue name, conference brand, or organiser identity that you are not authorised to represent is a direct violation.

§ 05

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. SydnayLive does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information on the website, including event details provided by third parties.

Event listings, dates, venue names, speaker lists, and ticket links are submitted by organisers and may change without notice. We do not verify every detail before publication. You should always confirm event information on the official organiser page before registering, booking travel, or attending.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SydnayLive shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the website. This includes losses connected to attending a listed event, relying on event information that turned out to be inaccurate, or interacting with a third-party organiser through a link on our site.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of New South Wales, including any liability under the Australian Consumer Law for guarantees that cannot be excluded.

§ 06

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SydnayLive and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the website or your violation of these Terms.

In practice, this means that if a third party brings a claim against SydnayLive because of content you submitted, conduct you engaged in on the site, or a breach of these Terms, you are responsible for the costs and liabilities that result. This obligation survives the termination of your access to the website.

§ 07

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Sydney, Australia, and you hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue therein.

If a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of these Terms to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. The section headings are for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of the Terms.

§ 08

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the website immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the website will immediately cease.

All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and the governing law clause. Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued before the date of termination.

§ 09

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our website after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you should stop using the website. The "Last revised" date shown at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were most recently updated.

For transparency, we also maintain a Privacy Policy and a Cookie Policy. Changes to those documents follow the same notice approach described here.
